Emil Goetze
Emil Karl Goetze , also Emil Götze (born July 19, 1856 in Leipzig , Kingdom of Saxony , † September 28, 1901 in Charlottenburg ) was a German opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Emil Karl Goetze, a student at the Dresden Conservatory , among others with Gustav Scharfe , where he first stepped onto the stage in October 1878, was then engaged for three years at the court theater there and finally acted as the first tenor at the Cologne City Theater.
Goetze was one of the most celebrated singing artists who also achieved success in numerous guest roles on Germany's first stages.
His main roles included: Walter von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg , Lohengrin , Faust , the Prophet , Lyonel ( Martha ), Max, Raoul ( The Huguenots ) and others.
He was a member of the Leipzig Masonic Lodge Balduin zur Linde .
