Emil Hermann Konstantin Wilhelmi

Emil Hermann Konstantin Wilhelmi (born December 29, 1826 in Neisse ; † February 18, 1900 in Flinsberg ( Jizera Mountains )) was the royal Prussian major general and most recently in command of the Torgau Fortress .

origin

His parents were Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Wilhelmi (* April 13, 1772; † August 19, 1830) and his wife Sophie Emilie von Heydebrand and the Lasa (* April 29, 1794; † October 4, 1859). His father was a lieutenant colonel. D. and finally department commander in the Silesian artillery brigade.

Life

Wilhelmi went to Wahlstatt as a cadet on July 31, 1838 and as a cadet to Berlin on August 10, 1841 . On July 4, 1844, he joined the 5th Artillery Brigade as a porter ensign. On November 12, 1844 he was aggregated as a second lieutenant . From October 1, 1845 to April 30, 1848 he was posted to the United Artillery and Engineering School . After his return he was appointed artillery officer on October 10, 1848 with a patent on August 22, 1846. From December 1, 1848 to February 1, 1850 he was assigned to the Artillery Revision Commission in Neisse. On July 22nd, 1852 he came to the fireworks department of the regiment and was placed à la suite of the regiment. From March 1, 1853 to April 30, 1853, he was posted to the Mainz fortress to learn the production of Simon's shrapnel detonator. On February 1, 1857, he was transferred to the 5th Artillery Regiment as Premier Lieutenant and promoted to captain on June 29, 1859. On November 4, 1861, he was appointed battery boss.

During the German War of 1866 Wilhelmi fought at Nachod , Skalitz , Schweinschädel and Königgrätz . During the mobilization for the Franco-Prussian War he was promoted to major on June 17, 1870 and as a commander in the III. Division of Field Artillery Regiment No. 7 moved. He fought at Spichern , Colombey and Gravelotte . He also fought in the siege of Metz and the battles at Woippy, Marnay, Vorges and Pontarlier. For this he received the Iron Cross 2nd Class on September 6, 1870 and the Iron Cross 1st Class on April 9, 1872.

After the war, Wilhelmi was transferred to Field Artillery Regiment No. 22 on May 7, 1874, but on December 12, 1874 he was commander of Train Battalion No. 6, and on January 18, 1875 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. On January 2, 1877 he came as a commander in the train battalion No. 14, on April 18, 1878 he was given the character of lieutenant colonel. On April 12, 1884, he received the patent as a colonel and was transferred to the Torgau Fortress as a commander, in addition he was placed à la suite of field artillery regiment No. 5. He received the character of major general on July 14, 1885 and was put up for disposal with a pension . He died on February 18, 1900 in Flinsberg (Jizera Mountains).

Wilhelmi married Ferdinande Uhden in 1861 . The couple had several children:
