Emil Ressel (poet)

Emil Ressel (born November 20, 1861 in Lusdorf an der Tafelfichte , today Ludvíkov pod Smrkem, Bohemia ; † March 3, 1926 in Česká Lípa , Czechoslovakia ) was a German-Bohemian teacher, poet and reciter .

Life

Emil Ressel, born the son of a farmer, studied after attending elementary school in his place of birth (today a district of Nové Město pod Smrkem ) and the community school in Friedland in Bohemia at the teacher training institute in Leitmeritz .

From 1882 Ressel worked as a teacher in Heinersdorf an der Tafelfichte , in Bärnsdorf an der Tafelfichte and in Dittersbach , then in Teichstatt , in Niedergrund , in Nieder-Ehrenberg and in Kreibitz . In 1897 he gave a lecture on the topic of the duties of the German teacher towards his ethnic group at the general assembly of the German state teachers' association in Bohemia. In 1902 Ressel was transferred to Warnsdorf and retired in 1919 in Český Jiřetín .
