Emil Viktor Kohl

Emil Viktor Kohl (born March 31, 1862 in Vienna ; † April 19, 1924 there ) was an Austrian physicist and university lecturer .

Kohl studied at the University of Vienna and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD . In 1903 he became a private lecturer at the University of Vienna. In 1921 he was appointed associate professor. He also worked as the first actuary (administrative officer) in the office of the Academy of Sciences in Vienna . He dealt with theoretical questions, in particular with wave theory , Maxwell's formulation of the electromagnetic field as well as electronics and thermodynamics .
