Emilie Hegh Arntzen (born January 1, 1994 in Skien , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player .

Career

In her youth Arntzen played for Stord, Gulset and Herkules. Then the back player Gjerpen joined, in whose women's team she was used in the second-highest Norwegian league in the 2010/11 season. After Arntzen played for Gjerpen in the third highest division in the next two seasons, she rose again with Gjerpen. In the 2013/14 season she was the most successful goalscorer in the second highest Norwegian league with 196 goals. Then she took the first division Byåsen IL under contract. She has been playing for Vipers Kristiansand since summer 2017 . With the Vipers she won the Norgesmesterskap, the Norwegian cup competition, in 2017 and 2019. She also won the Norwegian championship with Kristiansand in 2018 and 2019.

Arntzen went through all Norwegian youth teams. She took third place with Norway at the 2011 U-17 European Championship , third place at the 2012 U-18 World Championship , fourth place at the 2013 U-19 European Championship and ninth place at the U-20 World Championship 2014 . Arntzen has been a member of the Norwegian senior team since 2014 . With the national team she took part in the 2014 European Championship and won this competition. She won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2016 she won the European Championship for the second time. A year later she won the silver medal at the World Cup in Germany .

Private

Her mother Hanne Hegh also ran for the Norwegian national handball team.
