Emily Intsiful (* 1991 in Cologne ; full name Anne-Marie Emilie Vallerie Intsiful ) is a German singer who became known in 2013 through the talent show The Voice of Germany .

Career

Emily Intsiful is of Ghanaian-Liberian descent and was born in Germany. She grew up in Cologne and attended the St. Theresien Gymnasium in Ruppichteroth near Bonn. In 2010 she took part in Jugend musiziert and reached the national finals, where she took third place. After graduating from high school, she went to Altötting in Upper Bavaria , where she completed an apprenticeship as an ensemble leader at the Max Keller Vocational School for Music.

In autumn 2013 Emily Intsiful took part in the third season of the talent show The Voice of Germany at the age of 22 . She reached the live shows and got into the semifinals with her interpretation of the title Waltz for Nobody . She also got into the German single charts, which apart from her only the show favorite Andreas Kümmert and the later runner-up Chris Schummert succeeded. The original by Swiss Sophie Hunger was also placed in Germany for the first time. However, Intsiful then failed to make it into the final against competitor Judith van Hel .

Emily Intsiful is a versatile singer and songwriter. In addition to pop and jazz, she focuses on classical music and aims to study opera singing.
