Emmanuel Constant (bishop)
Emmanuel Constant (born January 5, 1928 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ; † June 16, 2009 ibid) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Les Gonaïves in Haiti. His nephew is the paramilitary Emmanuel "Toto" Constant .
Life
Emmanuel Constant was ordained a priest on July 12, 1953 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Les Gonaïves on August 20, 1966 . The episcopal ordination received his Curia Archbishop Antonio Samorè on 28 October of that year. Co -consecrators were Archbishop Albert François Cousineau of Cap-Haïtien and Rémy Augustin , Coadjutor Bishop of Port-de-Paix .
His resignation was granted on July 30, 2003 by Pope John Paul II .
