history
The former village of Emmersbach belonged to the Fulda Monastery in the Holy Roman Empire . In the 14th century it came from there as a pledge to the rule , later to the county of Hanau and then to the county of Hanau-Münzenberg . It was part of the Altengronau court . In the process of territorialization , however, the Counts of Hanau did not succeed in fully integrating the Altengronau court into their county: in 1509 the former village was described as "desolate" and was owned by von Thüngen and von Hutten .
After the death of the last Hanau count, Johann Reinhard III. In 1736 the Landgraves of Hessen-Kassel inherited the entire county of Hanau-Munzenberg. The area of the desert of Emmersbach later belonged to the Electorate of Hesse and, after its administrative reform of 1821, to the district of Schlüchtern . Today it belongs to the municipality of Sinntal and thus to the Main-Kinzig district since the Hessian regional reform .
