Employment is the debut album by British indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs . The record was released on March 7, 2005 by B-Unique ( Universal ).
Emergence
After the release of their first single "Oh My God" on the Drowned In Sound label , which also entered the charts , the Kaiser Chiefs were signed by the B-Unique label . There the second single "I Predict a Riot" was released, which reached number 22 in the charts. As a result, the major label Universal became aware of the group and brought them together with producer Stephen Street (including Blur , The Cranberries ) to record the band's first album.

Plattentests.de recommended the album and wrote that Employment was "poppy and catchy". The band "uses" "the best of the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and today", but the record is still entertaining.
The Wiener Zeitung described the Kaiser Chiefs as a mixture of Franz Ferdinand and Dogs Die In Hot Cars . The hype in the UK is justified, but it remains to be seen whether the group will enjoy a similar long-lasting success.
