The 2002/03 season was the seventh edition of the English National League . After the Ice Hockey Superleague , the British National League and the English Premier Ice Hockey League , it is the 4th division of British ice hockey.

Mode and participants

The teams played in a north and a south group. In a single round everyone played against everyone. Then the first four played in play-off groups for the play-off places. The first two from North and South then played in play-offs with a return leg for the overall victory.

North group

The northern group played with the same teams as in the previous season. Only the Birmingham Rockets moved to the south group, while the Flintshire Freeze moved from there to the north group.

Southern group

The field of participants was reduced by the elimination of the Telford Tigers and the Chelmsford Chieftains , who switched to the higher-class EPIHL . In addition, the Oxford City Stars and the second team of the Slough Jets withdrew and the Flintshire Freeze moved to the northern group, from which the Birmingham Rockets returned.
