The 2001/02 season was the sixth edition of the English National League . After the Ice Hockey Superleague , the British National League and the English Premier Ice Hockey League , it is the 4th division of British ice hockey.

Mode and participants

The teams played in a north and a south group. In a single round everyone played against everyone. In contrast to the pre-season, there were no play-off groups. The first two from North and South then played in play-offs with a return leg for the overall victory.

North group

The northern group played with the same teams as in the previous season plus the Birmingham Rockets, who had changed from the southern group .

Southern group

The southern group was reinforced by the Chelmsford Chieftains , Milton Keynes Kings and the re-running Invicta Dynamos . In contrast, the Birmingham Rockets moved to the northern group.
