Enno Burmeister

Enno Burmeister (born March 5, 1929 in Norden ; † December 23, 2017 in Munich ) was a German architect , monument conservator and university professor . He was considered a capacity for the architecture of Munich and its history.

Life

Enno Burmeister, son of Eduard and Mathilde Burmeister, studied architecture in Braunschweig and Munich. From 1958 he worked as a freelance architect. In 1961 he was with the work possibilities and limitations of the space stage at the Technical University of Munich to Dr.-Ing. PhD. From 1969 to 1973 he studied art history with the minor subjects classical archeology and theater studies. In 1977 he was with the work of the castles of the old Bavarian gentry: Typology of the engravings Michael Wenings early 18th century at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich to Dr. phil. PhD.

Burmeister has been a lecturer in art history since 1967 and since 1971 professor of architectural history and monument preservation at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and also a lecturer at the Institute for Theater Studies at the LMU in Munich. As the successor to Alexander von Branca , he was the municipal home nurse in Munich from 1988 to 2000. He was an expert for the restoration and renovation of historical buildings in Munich.

For many years he was chairman of the cultural building fund of the city of Munich, which campaigned for the preservation of Munich cultural monuments such as the Pelkovenschlössl or the Salvatorkirche .

He was a member of the Association of German Architects . He was involved in the Friends of the Upper Bavarian Open-Air Museum Glentleiten and the Amerang Farmhouse Museum and was chairman from 1982 to 2002. From 2006 to 2012 he was Albert Scharf's successor at the Bavarian Club .
