Enrique "Quique" Martín Navarro (born June 3, 1924 in Valladolid ; † April 12, 2016 ) was a Spanish football player and coach .

Athletic career

Martín began playing football at CD Castellón , in 1943 he moved to FC Barcelona . Here, however , the goalkeeper was overshadowed by the regular goalkeepers Juan Zambudio Velasco and Antoni Ramallets and was only used irregularly until 1950. During this time he won the championship title three times with the club and an international title in 1949 with the Coupe Latine and the Copa Eva Duarte . He then moved to Valencia CF , where he became a regular. In 1954 he won the final of the Copa del Generalísimo with goals from twice successful Antonio Fuertes and Manuel Badenes with a 3-0 win against his ex-club FC Barcelona. From 1957 he ran on at UD Levante and then ended his career as a player- coach at CD Alcoyano .

His first purely head coach position, Martín took over in 1959 at Atlético Saguntino in the then third-class Tercera División . This was followed by short-term engagements with the league rivals CD Onda and amateur clubs CD Dénia and Torrent CF . In 1962 he returned as a coach to Levante UD, with the club he rose to the Primera División the following summer . In 1964 he moved to league rivals Real Oviedo , with whom he was relegated from the top division and then hired again at UD Levante. From 1965 he trained CD Constancia in the Segunda División , in 1967 he worked briefly for UE Lleida and then supervised Paiporta CF and UD Alzira in Valencia's amateur football.
