The Entris Holding AG , based in Gümligen (Gemeinde Muri bei Bern ) is a company which provides through its subsidiaries financial services for small and medium-sized banks in Switzerland (BtoB business). Its shareholders are 35 Swiss regional banks . The holding company is responsible for the strategic management and coordination of the entire group. The operational activities in the Entris Group are carried out by its wholly owned subsidiary Entris Banking AG . Entris Holding AG itself is not a bank within the meaning of the Banking Act .

Clientis banks

In 2003, several banks within the Entris Group merged to form the Clientis Group. The 15 Clientis banks remain independent with their respective legal form and the local organs. Via Clientis AG , the joint competence and service center, they work together in several areas and thus use synergies:

• joint refinancing on the capital market
• Distribution of common products
• Bundling and partial outsourcing of payment transactions and securities administration as well as services etc. a. for IT management , compliance and market development

history

Most Swiss regional banks have their roots in the 19th century. In the first half of the 20th century these organized themselves in various regional associations. With the establishment of the Association of Swiss Regional Banks in 1971, they created an umbrella organization for the whole of Switzerland.

In 1993 it became clear that the banking group was no longer adequately equipped with this organization alone. The association therefore proposed to its members the creation of a new central organization for the banking group. As a result, RBA-Holding AG (later Entris Holding AG) was founded on September 1, 1994, to which 94 regional banks joined. The newly created organization provided services for the shareholder banks and represented their interests in the Swiss financial center. The services have also been offered to other interested banks since 2017, while the representation of interests was transferred to the Association of Swiss Regional Banks, which was founded on May 14, 2018. Entris Operations, which was founded in 2007 and is half owned by RBA-Holding and Berner Kantonalbank , was taken over by Swisscom IT Services in 2013 . Swisscom had previously taken over part of Entris Banking.
