Ephraim Mogale ( English Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality until 2010 Greater Marble Hall Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the South African province of Limpopo . It belongs to the Sekhukhune district . The municipality's administrative headquarters are at Marble Hall . Molaudi Mothogwane is the mayor.
After the regional elections in December 2000, smaller self-government units were amalgamated here. This resulted in the merger of Marble Hall, parts of the Moutse (West) Transitional Local Council (TLC), Leeuwfontein, part of Hlogotlou / Lepelle Transitional Rural Council (TRC), the Greater Nebo North TRC , part of Naboomspruit / Roedtan Thusang TLC and the Springbokvlakte TLC . In this way, a cross-boundary community was created, which simultaneously extended to the territories of the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga . After the regional elections in 2006, the entire local parish area was incorporated into the Mpumalanga Province. It was not until January 21, 2010, at the initiative of the Department of Local Government and Housing of the Limpopo Provincial Administration, that Greater Marble Hall Local Municipality was renamed Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality .
It is named after a South African Communist Party politician who died in 2003 and who worked in Mpumalanga.
