The school has had a partnership with a Polish school in Warsaw since 1995 and with a school in Togo since 2005 . The two old branches of school have had a very close school partnership with the Lycée Jean Perrin in Lambersart, France since 1964 and with a school in the United States since 1987 .

The school shows commitment to sport, among other things, by organizing the “Mini EM” and “Mini World Cup”. There, 32 school teams from the Viersen district compete against each other in a tournament, each representing a participating country. The school also organizes a charity run every three years together with the sports festival. The students have sponsors who donate for every kilometer they run. The proceeds will be donated in part to local institutions and used for the school's Togo project.

The school clearly positions itself against bullying and cyber-bullying, in this area there is also close cooperation with external partners, e.g. a. with the prevention commissioner in Viersen.

history

In 1992 the Erasmus-von-Rotterdam-Gymnasium was founded. The school was created by merging the modern language grammar school on the Löh (founded in 1873 as a lyceum / girls' grammar school) and the city's humanistic grammar school (founded in 1904 as a Latin school in 1526). The school uses the buildings of the former grammar school on the Löh .
