Ergün Teber (born September 1, 1985 in Adana ) is a Turkish football player.

Career

Teber learned to play football in his hometown Adana in the youth of the amateur club Yenibeygücü . After he was nominated here for the Turkish junior national teams, he was spotted by the scouts of several second and first division clubs. The then second division team Kayseri Erciyesspor , who transferred him in 1999, won the race . After he was used here exclusively in the youth for two years, he got sporadic assignments in the professional team. So he came to an average of four games per season in the next two seasons. In the 2003/04 season he made his breakthrough as a regular player. He reached with his club at the end of the season the runner-up in the 1st Lig and thus direct promotion to the Süper Lig . After the rise, the club exchanged the naming rights with the more historic partner club Kayserispor , so that the club participated in the Süper Lig with the name Kayserispor. Ergün Teber was not taken into the Süper Lig for the time being. Instead, a move to the new Kayseri Erciyesspor was suggested to him . So he moved to the second division for the new season. His old club wanted him back during the winter break, so he moved again and was now playing in the highest Turkish league. Here he was used regularly for one and a half seasons.

For the 2006/07 season he was informed by coach Ertuğrul Sağlam that they were not planning with him for the new season. So he was loaned to league competitor Sakaryaspor . Here he played until the winter break and then switched to Kayseri Erciyesspor, who is now playing in the Süper Lig, on a free transfer.

For the new season he moved again within the league this time to Çaykur Rizespor . After half a year he left the club in the direction of Gençlerbirliği Ankara . He played for Gençlerbirliği for a year and a half and was then loaned to Kocaelispor for half a season .

For the 2009/10 season he moved to the Süper Lig promoted Kasımpaşa . Here he played two seasons and separated from the club after the club could not keep up.

For the new season, his coach Fuat Çapa, who had switched to Gençlerbirliği, wanted to take him with him. This move was prevented by Kasımpaşa. So Teber switched to the newcomer Samsunspor instead . Although he came here to regular assignments, he moved to Gençlerbirliği during the winter break. On April 7th, 2012 it was announced that Teber would leave the capital city with immediate effect by mutual agreement.

For the 2012/13 season he agreed with the southern Turkish first division club Antalyaspor . At this club, Teber only stayed one season and moved to league rivals Torku Konyaspor in the summer .

In the summer of 2014, Teber moved to league rivals Eskişehirspor and signed a two-year contract here. After a year for Eskişehirspor, Teber moved to the second division Kardemir Karabükspor for the 2015/16 season . The contract between Teber and Karabükspor was terminated in October 2016.

National team

Teber started playing for the Turkish junior national teams early on. He went through most of the junior national teams over the years. In 2004 he made it to the finals with the Turkish U-19 at the U-19 European Football Championship in 2004 . Here they failed after a 1-0 defeat against the Spanish U-19s and became vice-European champions of the U-19s.
