Eric Owen Moss

Eric Owen Moss (born July 25, 1943 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American architect. He lives and works in Culver City , California.

biography

Moss graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965 . He then went on to study for a Master of Architecture at the College for Industrial Design at the University of California at Berkeley until 1968, and then a Master of Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design until 1972 .

Moss, who runs his own architecture firm EOM Architects in Culver City , has designed numerous structures in the United States and other countries since 1973. His work has been exhibited internationally and his books and monographs have been published in many countries.

He teaches design at the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles and is its director. He also teaches as a professor at Columbia and Rice University , the Harvard Graduate School of Design, at the University of California in Los Angeles and also at other universities around the world, for example in Copenhagen and Vienna .

Moss, who is also a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), has received around 80 major design prizes and awards. In 2016 he received the Austrian Decoration of Honor for Science and Art .
