Dr. Erich Salomon Prize
The Erich Salomon Prize is an award for outstanding achievements in photo journalism that has been awarded by the German Society for Photography since 1971 . It is named after the photographer Erich Salomon , who was murdered in the Auschwitz concentration camp. For the first twelve years it was only awarded to print media, television productions and organizations. Since 1983 it has also been available to individuals.
The prize consists of a certificate and a Leica camera from current production with name engraving.
