Erich Dziwoki

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Erich Dziwoki (also Dziwocki ; born August 11, 1925 in Klausberg ; † December 31, 1984 ) was a German football player who occupied the outside striker position for various top division clubs from Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein in the 1950s .

Career

Beginnings in football and in the major league (until 1951)

Dziwoki lived in his youth in Upper Silesia and played for the Klausberg sports fans who were based there . During the Second World War he was temporarily a soldier and as such fell into American and British captivity, from which he was released in 1947. He moved to Frankfurt am Main, where he joined the Union Niederrad football club in the same year . In 1949 he moved to FSV Frankfurt , where he moved up a year later in the league team. The FSV belonged to the Oberliga Süd , which represented the top division in the then regionally limited league system. On August 20, 1950, the first day of the 1950/51 season was played and Dziwoki reached his league debut in a 1: 5 away defeat against VfB Mühlburg . His team found themselves in the top group of the league and ultimately finished fifth in the table, four points behind the first-placed 1. FC Nürnberg and two points behind runner-up SpVgg Fürth .

Moved to the West and successfully returned to Frankfurt (1951–1955)

After his first year in the highest class in southern Germany, Dziwoki was committed to Alemannia Aachen in the summer of 1951 and thus moved to the Oberliga West . There the offensive player took a permanent place and missed only one game in the course of the 1951/52 season. He scored seven goals himself and took third place in the table with Aachen. After only a year, however, he turned his back on the club to return to Hesse and join Eintracht Frankfurt there.

At Eintracht he was able to fight for a permanent place in the first team as a winger and also appeared very regularly as a goal scorer. With twelve goals, he helped 1952/53 to ensure that his team won the league championship. For him this meant his first title win and also qualification for the German championship finals in 1953 . However, the Hessians did not reach the final. In the following year, Dziwoki was able to increase his goal count to 16 goals, but narrowly missed defending his title with Frankfurt in second place behind VfB Stuttgart . The eleven qualified again for the national championship round, but remained far from making it into the final. After two years in the regular team, the offensive player was only called up once during the 1954/55 season. Following that, he turned his back on Eintracht after 52 league games with 28 goals. In Frankfurt am Main, the football player, who was actually trained in a technical profession, ran several restaurants, which was also the case during his active days.

Back in the league with Meiderich (1955–1958)

After leaving Frankfurt, he moved back to the West in 1955 and joined Meidericher SV from Duisburg. The MSV had previously suffered the first relegation from the Oberliga to the 2nd League West and brought in Hermann Lindemann a coach that Dziwoki already knew from Aachen. With the "Zebras" he became a regular regular and together with Heinz Bohnes and Uwe Scheurer an important figure in the well-functioning storm. He scored 15 goals himself and in 1956 achieved direct re- promotion with his team thanks to a narrow lead over VfB Bottrop . Subsequently, the Meidericher were able to re-establish themselves immediately in the top division and in the following two years, with his participation, occupied the ranks seven and four. In 1958 he left the MSV after 48 league games with eleven goals and 30 second division games with 15 goals.

End of his career in Lübeck and Lengnau (1958–1960)

After leaving Meiderich, Phönix Lübeck from the Oberliga Nord joined for the duration of the 1958/59 season . For Lübeck, he completed 20 games with two hits in the relegation battle and ultimately managed to stay in the league with his team. However, he left the club after that year and moved to FC Lengnau in Switzerland . There he took on a double role as a player -coach and had considerable difficulties at the club competing in the second-rate National League B. At the end of the 1959/60 season, this led to relegation from the National League, which is why he was no longer employed in Lengnau. Dziwocki died in 1984 at the age of 59.
