Erik von Grawert-May

Erik von Grawert-May (* 1944 in Lauban ; pseudonym: Erik von Senftenberg ) is a German economist . From 1994 to 2009 he taught as a professor for business ethics and culture at what was then the “Lausitz University of Applied Sciences”, which is now the Brandenburg Technical University of Cottbus-Senftenberg .

Live and act

Erik von Grawert-May was born in Lower Silesia and spent his childhood in Hamburg-Ottensen . His family moved to Bonn-Bad Godesberg in 1959 , where he graduated from high school in 1964 . After that of Grawert-May studied Romance languages at the Sorbonne in Paris , made from 1965 to 1968 military service in the army and then studied economics in Tübingen and Berlin .

From 1975 to 1981 von Grawert-May was a research assistant at the "Institute for Theory of Economic Policy" at the Free University of Berlin . Between 1982 and 1988 he received his doctorate and habilitation . The title of his doctoral thesis submitted at the FU was: The Drama War - On the Moralization of Politics .

In 1994 he accepted an appointment as professor for “business ethics and culture” at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences, which merged in 2013 with the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus to form BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

A broadcast of the Beckmann talk show series received media attention in 2002 , in which the music producer Dieter Bohlen, as a guest on the show, developed the idea of writing a dissertation on the subject of “Music and Marketing”. Bohlen has a degree in business administration and thus fulfills the formal requirements for a doctorate. Von Grawert-May, who was also a talk guest on this show, spontaneously promised to support him in his project. However, Bohlen did not pursue the request any further.

In 2009 von Grawert-May retired. He lives in Berlin-Schöneberg .

Von Grawert-May is also the author of some fictional fiction. He leads in the first chapter of his book Heavenly Splendor - The Memoirs Martin Mosebach written by his double from that he in the 2010s-years regularly in the Berlin State Library by the local librarians with Martin Mosebach was confused, after 2017, the idea was born, to write his made-up memoirs .
