Erika Rössing

Erika Rössing , b. Glöckner, (born July 29, 1903 in Nisko , Galicia , † February 22, 1977 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and craftswoman .

Live and act

Rössing took painting lessons from Franz von Zülow and Josef Hoffmann . From September 19, 1922 she was married to the Austrian graphic artist and illustrator Karl Rössing , who had a decisive influence on her oeuvre. She lived in Germany from 1934, as she and her husband shared the respective stays at his places of work in Berlin and Stuttgart , among others . 1960 until her death, the couple lived in Gauting near Munich. In 1980 the Erika and Karl Rössing Foundation was set up to acquire contemporary graphics by German and Austrian artists at the State Graphic Collection of the State Gallery in Stuttgart .
