Erlend Mamelund (born May 1, 1984 in Bærum ) is a former Norwegian handball player .

Career

Mamelund, who played for the Norwegian first division club Haslum HK and ran for the Norwegian men's national handball team (shirt number 11), is usually used as a left backcourt player. His siblings Håvard and Linn Therese also played handball in the highest Norwegian league.

He started playing handball in his hometown of Bærum. In 2001 he moved to the Norwegian club Haslum HK, with whom he made his debut in the Norwegian Postenligaen and in 2005 was champion and cup winner. In 2007 Mamelund moved to the German handball league for HSG Nordhorn-Lingen . After the winter break of the 2008/09 season, he moved to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in February . However, he left this at the end of the 2008/09 season in the direction of FCK Håndbold . After a season in Copenhagen he returned to Haslum. In the 2010/11 season Mamelund was Norwegian champion, cup winner and top scorer in the elite series with 185 goals . In the following season 2011/12 he was again elected cup winner and player of the year. From summer 2012 he ran for the French first division club Montpellier AHB . In January 2013 his contract with Montpellier was terminated and he returned to Haslum HK. In 2014 he was again the top scorer in the Norwegian league. In the summer of 2015 he moved to THW Kiel . Mamelund returned to Haslum HK after a season in Kiel. He ended his career after the 2016/17 season. In September 2017 he made his comeback for Haslum. After the 2017/18 season he became an assistant coach at Haslum HK.

Erlend Mamelund has played 137 international matches for the Norwegian men's national handball team and also took part with Norway in the 2007 World Championships in Germany and 2009 in Croatia .
