Ermenegildo Pellegrinetti
Ermenegildo Cardinal Pellegrinetti (born March 27, 1876 in Camaiore , Province of Lucca , Italy , † March 29, 1943 in Rome ) was a Vatican diplomat and cardinal of the Roman Church .
Life
Ermenegildo Pellegrinetti studied philosophy and Catholic theology in Lucca and Rome . He graduated from the Vatican diplomatic school and worked after his ordination in 1898 as a chaplain and lecturer in Lucca. In 1917 and 1918 he took part in the First World War as a military chaplain . From 1918 to 1922 he was in the service of the Apostolic Nunciature in Poland . In 1922 he was appointed titular archbishop of Adana and apostolic nuncio in Yugoslavia . He received the episcopal ordination through Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Gasparri .
On December 13, 1937, Pope Pius XI. Ermenegildo Pellegrinetti as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Lorenzo in Panisperna in the college of cardinals . Ermenegildo Pellegrinetti took part in the 1939 conclave .
He died in Rome on March 29, 1943 and was buried in the collegiate church of Camaiore .
