Erna Tober

Erna Tober (born April 24, 1951 in Päwesin ) is a German costume designer , set designer , illustrator , painter and graphic artist .

Life

Erna Tober studied costume and stage design at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . Her teachers included Arno Mohr and Eberhard Bachmann . After completing her studies, she first worked for GDR television , where she was responsible for the costumes for several film productions. In the 1980s she illustrated children's books for the children's book publisher Berlin .

Later, as a freelance fashion designer , she designed numerous individual pieces using nuno- felt technology.

From 2010 to 2016 she worked as a costume painter at the Volksbühne Berlin .

Erna Tober was married to the painter and graphic artist Klaus Tober († 1994).
