Ernesto Revé first competed in national triple jump competitions in 2008 at the age of 16. A year later he was able to qualify for the U18 World Championships in Brixen, Italy. In the qualification, however, he did not make a valid attempt, which is why he already failed there. Another year later he entered the senior age group in which he was able to qualify for the U20 World Championships in Moncton, Canada. Before that, he jumped over the 16.70 meter mark. At the championships, he was the first in his qualifying group to reach the final, where he won the silver medal with a distance of 16.47 m.
In February 2011, he jumped the 17-meter mark for the first time in a competition in his home country and in the two following seasons competed exclusively in the American continent, and in 2013 also at meetings in Europe, including in Bilbao , Lausanne and Budapest . In February 2014 he set his personal best of 17.58 m in Havana. A month later he then competed at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot. After he survived the qualification, he then set up a new indoor record in the final with 17.33 m, with which he achieved the title of vice world champion. Indoor world champion Lyukman Adams jumped from fourth to first place in the last attempt, a total of four centimeters further than Revé, who was unable to counter after the third attempt after an injury to his leg. The Central America and Caribbean Games were scheduled for Xalapa in November . With a width of 16.94 m Revé won the competition.
He jumped the same distance in 2015 at the Pan American Games in Toronto, with which he won the bronze medal. Another year later he took part in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. With a width of 16.58 m, he failed as seventh in his qualifying group just to make it into the final and took 14th place overall. This was his last major competition so far on the international stage.
