Ernesto Rossi (born February 28, 1827 in Livorno , † June 4, 1896 in Pescara ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Instead of studying law , he made his touring theater debut in 1845 and was taught by Gustavo Modena . In 1852 he came to the Compagnia Reale Sarda .

Tours took him to Milan , Turin , Paris ( Comédie-Française ), London , Vienna , Lisbon , Moscow , Prague ; in Germany to Berlin and Dresden . He played u. a. with Adelaide Ristori .

He had particular success with leading roles in the dramas of William Shakespeare .

He fell ill during a performance in Odessa and died a few weeks later in Italy.
