From 1962 to 1967 he developed the differential knowledge test for the German Society for Personnel Development . This means that he can still be counted among the pioneers of objective psychological tests in German-speaking countries .

From 1968 to 1972 he was a lecturer at Uppsala University until he was appointed professor of psychology at RWTH Aachen University in 1972 . After his retirement in 1984, he moved to Hackås in Sweden. He was married to the psychologist Marion Kloep .

Fürntratt-Kloep made many trips to Latin America, including 17 to Cuba , where he also adopted the middle name "Fidel", and often to Venezuela and Mexico .

In 1991 and 1992 he wrote articles for the magazine in concrete terms . In 1994 he founded the World Data Research Center in Havana . For his book on quality of life (1995) he collected data from 152 countries and for the book on women's rights (1998) from 160 countries. He wanted to give his research a foundation of concrete facts, quote (1995): “If there is little objective knowledge or truth in the social sciences such as psychology, sociology or economics - in history and politics there is none. What is accepted and believed in these areas is all distorted by the consequences of one-sided upbringing, propaganda and simple brainwashing. Thinking in these areas is anything but free. "
