Serious Finder

Ernst Finder (born February 16, 1865 in Moorfleet ; † July 11, 1940 in Hamburg ) was a German author and local researcher .

Life

Finder was born as the son of the dairy farmer Eggert Finder (1834–1914) in Moorfleet. After finishing school, he studied at the University of Rostock and graduated in 1898 with a doctorate in philosophy . He was a teacher for 35 years and finally a senior teacher at the secondary school in Eilbeck . With his homeland-related publications, he made a special contribution to the Low German language . Finder was a member of the Association for Hamburg History and the Quickborn Association, and since 1935 an honorary member of the latter association. He died in Hamburg in 1940 at the age of 75.

The Ernst-Finder-Weg in Hamburg-Lohbrügge was named after him in 1934.
