Ernst Heinrich Wilhelm Fier

Ernst Heinrich Wilhelm Fier (born February 19, 1792 in Boppard ; † July 12, 1884 in Bernkastel-Kues ) was a winery owner, mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

After attending the École Secondaire in Boppard, Fier embarked on an administrative career, first doing surveying work, then managing director of the forest treasury. From 1823 to 1868 he was mayor of the Lieser office and at the same time a member of the Bernkastel district council.

He was very committed to improving the infrastructure and numerous construction works were carried out. In 1842 the official seat was moved to Kues. Fier became a deputy member of the Rhenish Provincial Parliament in 1845 and a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Daun-Prüm-Bitburg and Wittlich-Bernkastel in 1845 and 1859 to 1862 . In 1848 he became a member of the committee for the preparation of the May elections, elector for Kues (also in 1849) and in the constituency committee. From 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Trier 2 administrative district (Wittlich-Bernkastel) for the Center Party .
