Ernst Salge (born July 29, 1882 in Schildesche ; † November 11, 1949 in Bethel (Samaria)) was a German lawyer and politician . He was Lord Mayor of Tilsit (1925–1934).

Life

Born as the son of a teacher and rector, Salge studied law in Marburg and Münster after attending high school in Bielefeld . During his studies in 1902 he became a member of the Arminia Marburg fraternity . After his exams and his doctorate as Dr. jur. In 1908 he worked as an assessor in Bielefeld until 1913 and then mayor of Idar until 1914 . During the First World War he was a soldier on the Western Front and in Russia , most recently as a captain and battalion commander . From 1919 to 1921 he was an alderman in Berlin-Oberschöneweide , then mayor of Salzwedel until 1925 and mayor of Tilsit until 1934. From 1929 to 1933 he was also a member of the provincial parliament of the province of East Prussia, where he was a member of the DNVP parliamentary group. After he resigned under pressure from the National Socialists , he worked as a lawyer in Tilsit, and from 1936 in Bielefeld. In 1945 he became a department head at the Bielefeld city ​​administration . After the end of the Second World War , he spent four months in the Recklinghausen camp and then, after his release, was chairman of the arbitration committee of the city of Bielefeld.
