Ernst Solèr

Ernst Solèr (born July 7, 1960 in Männedorf ; † July 16, 2008 ) was a Swiss writer and journalist . He became known as an author in particular with his crime novels .

Life

After graduating from high school , Ernst Solèr tried his hand at becoming an ethnology student, rock guitarist and game inventor . In 1987 he began a career with Swiss television , where he worked as an editor and producer of various TV programs. In 1999 he got out and from then on devoted himself to writing. He worked as a columnist and reporter and wrote numerous short stories as well as several radio plays and novels. He wrote Schreckmümpfelis for the Swiss radio station DRS and wrote the gambling column “ Gambling with Solèr” for the business newspaper Cash (which was discontinued in 2007) for four years .

In 1999 he published his TV thriller Odds Blood , and in 2002 the scene novel The Problem Solver . He was also successful with his crime novels about the moody captain Fred Staub of the Zurich canton police . In 2006 dust appeared in the fire . Dust in the Water followed in March 2007 , the series continued with Dust in the Snow in 2008 and ended in 2009 with the appearance of Dust in Paradise .

Solèr has received a media award for financial journalists as well as several awards for short stories.

Ernst Solèr had a daughter and lived in Zurich . He died of cancer on July 16, 2008 at the age of 48.
