Ernst von Eckardstein-Prötzel

Ernst Freiherr von Eckardstein-Prötzel (born May 22, 1824 in Prötzel near Wriezen , † March 1, 1899 in Berlin ) was a manor owner and member of the Reichstag .

Eckardstein was a grandson of Ernst Jacob von Eckardstein , the founder of the Eckardstein family . In 1842 he passed the final examination at the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster in Berlin and then studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin until 1845. After his one year military service, he became a trainee lawyer at the Berlin Court of Justice in 1846. In 1848 he resigned from the civil service and began studies in agriculture and forestry and completed an apprenticeship in banking. From 1851 to 1856 he managed his Haselberg manor . From 1856 eight mansions came into his possession through inheritance and from 1867 further manors were bought in. In 1874 he bought the Kronthaler springs .

Eckardstein belonged to the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency Nieder- and Ober-Barnim , Angermünde from 1859 to 1861, from 1866 to 1876 and from 1879 to 1897 . He was a member of the Reichstag from 1871 to 1874 and from 1887 to 1890 . The constituency of Potsdam 5 (Ober-Barnim) elected him there . He was a member of the German Reich Party . In 1898 he became a member of the Prussian manor house .
