history

Origin, development and successes

On December 18, 1962, those responsible for culture in what was then the Karl-Marx-Stadt district invited numerous dialect and homeland groups, musicians and individual contributors from the Ore Mountains to a joint performance at Christmas in the mountains in the Karl-Marx-Stadt town hall . After the great success of the public event, all organizers and participants agreed that they should start creating joint programs with immediate effect. It took another year until all the details were discussed, clarified and written down. In the Aue cultural center, which was completed in 1958, the statute for the work of the Erzgebirge Ensemble Aue was signed on October 13, 1963 . The main tasks are the "research, maintenance and further development of the customs of the Ore Mountains in music, song, dialect and folk dance". The ensemble, financed by the Aue district administration, started with great success in its home region, in GDR cities and on television. Soon there were also appearances abroad. Songs in the Ore Mountains dialect were sung on many occasions in all seasons, almost forgotten pieces were also heard again. However, the Christmas carols performed by the ensemble members in historical miner's clothing and pieces of music played on historical instruments were and are particularly well-known. The Russian horns presented at the instigation of Hellmuth Merkel since 1967 are a world rarity and have already been seen in many television appearances and heard on radio recordings. The dialect author Manfred Blechschmidt led the ensemble from its foundation until 1989. Steffen Kindt succeeded him as ensemble leader.

Development of the ensemble after 1990

With the collapse of the GDR , the further development of the cultural ensemble was uncertain. The members decided to found their own company and continued the tradition. The artists achieved their breakthrough in Germany-wide recognition with an appearance on the ZDF broadcast Melodies for Millions in 1991. Since then, innumerable musical media have been sold, television appearances have been made and tours have taken place. By the end of the 20th century, several thousand events were held and guest performances took the singers, musicians and dancers to many countries in Europe, Asia and America. The achievements of the Ore Mountains folklore ensemble have been honored with numerous international music prizes.

On the occasion of the 50th birthday of the Ore Mountains Ensemble Aue, the city administration of Aue awarded the golden bridge badge to the first ensemble leader Manfred Blechschmidt and the director Steffen Kindt, who has been active since 1991, in recognition of their contributions to the city's recent cultural history.

Parts of the ensemble

Within the association, further groups are distinguished such as the vocal and instrumental group Auer Bergkristall with the Russian horns , the Bergoboistenkorps , the mountain singers , the dance group. The performances are often accompanied by soloists. Affiliated children's singing and dance groups guarantee a wide range of offers and the continuation of the ensemble.

The earlier members of the ensemble included u. a. the dialect speaker Werner Kempf and the singing groups Zschorlauer Nachtigallen and De Rutkalle .

Programs and presentation

The performances range from private events, simple Ore Mountains homeland evenings to complete entertainment programs, concerts, appearances at Christmas markets, at large events and corporate presentations. There is a lot to do for all ensemble members in the Advent and Christmas season, because the Erzgebirge Christmas Region is now successfully marketed in the media.

Working with other folk art groups is an important part of the ensemble's work. This is shown, for example, by the spring cocktail presented in May 2009 with the Scheibenberger organ pipes , with Christina Auerswald, the big band Meerane and dance performances by Keen on Rhythm or the classic afternoon event . We also work with musicians from all over the world.

The visual identification of the cultural group is an old copper engraving showing two people in historical miners' parade uniforms . A man strokes the fiddle , a miner with a glow follows him.
