Norway in the 14th century: In the country ravaged by the plague , the family of the young Signe is killed by the gang of the leader Dagmar in front of them. Dagmar himself shoots Signe's brother with a crossbow . Signe is spared by Dagmar and kidnapped. In Dagmar's camp she meets her foster daughter Frigg. When she approaches the tied Signe, Frigg is punished. As a result, the two girls flee the camp; Dagmar and her followers pursue them through the Scandinavian countryside. On the run, Signe manages to take out two of five followers of Dagmar.

The girls find shelter with the hunter Trygve. This gives you shelter and food. He tells the girls of Dagmar's past: At the time of the plague epidemic, Dagmar was denounced as the witch who was supposed to have caused the epidemic in the region. The villagers performed the water test on the pregnant Dagmar and her young daughter . The girl drowned, but Dagmar escaped, but also lost her unborn child. Trygve also trains Signe in hunting and archery .

Dagmar and her remaining three companions track down the girls at Trygve and kill him; the girls flee again, but are caught on a cliff. While Frigg falls into Dagmar's clutches again, Signe throws himself off the cliff. She survived the fall and returned to Trygve's hut, burying him. With his weapons she returns to Dagmar's camp and kills their followers. Then she frees the tied Frigg.
