After Daya Zhang and her entourage visit the factory sites in Mansfield, Ohio for her father's Hong Kong company, Zhang Innovations, they are kidnapped by mercenaries. Your bodyguard and security chief Bao Yung tried unsuccessfully to fend off this. The kidnappers leave Yung unconscious with a USB stick addressed to security expert Ray Breslin.

In Los Angeles, Breslin crosses paths with Shen Lo, a former bodyguard who previously worked for Zhang Innovations. Both men are tracking down Daya's father, Wu Zhang, whose company is responsible for building covert prisons around the world. They meet with Breslin's employees - his girlfriend Abigail, Hush, and Jules - when Yung arrives with the USB stick. It contains a video message from Lester Clark Jr., Daya's kidnapper and son of Breslin's ex-partner. In the deal with Zhang, Lester betrayed Sr. Breslin and was sent to her death (see Escape Plan).

Breslin goes to Trent DeRosa and follows the video about a prison in Latvia known as "Devil's Station". Abigail is kidnapped and Wu, who has arrived in Mansfield to meet the police, receives a video call from Lester. Seeking revenge for his father's death, Lester demands a $ 700 million ransom and shoots a hostage as a reprint. Breslin, DeRosa, Jules, Shen and Yung travel to Latvia to save Daya and Abigail.

When Lester threatens the prisoners, Daya's colleague Wong agrees to give him access to Zhang's technology, but another hostage is killed. Hush monitors the prison with a drone and his thermal imaging camera shows that Lester created his own black spot. Breslin infiltrates the site through the sewers while Shen and Yung approach the outer walls. Lester has become aware of their presence and uses Daya as bait. Shen tries to hold the position and wait for Breslin after realizing it is a trap, but Yung ruthlessly attacks Shen's protests. He and Shen are attacked, injured and captured by land mines. Lester reveals that the USB stick was a tracker that led his men to Abigail, and concludes that Shen and Daya are in love. He shoots Yung and videotaped Breslin, cutting Abigail's throat.

Breslin kills Lester's henchmen, including Frankie and Sonny. Shen steals a guard's stun gun when he is taken to the cells to start a fire. He melts his bonds and kills two guards in the smoke. He frees Daya, but they are confronted by several prisoners who were also able to free themselves. DeRosa arrives and kills the prisoners with incendiary bullets. In the chaos that follows, DeRosa kills Ralf (one of Lester's best henchmen) in a brutal fistfight and Shen Silva (another of Lester's best henchmen) in brutal hand-to-hand combat, while he kills Daya and Wong (Daya's friend and Zhang innovation technology analyst ) saves. In a shootout with Lester in the upstairs cells, Breslin is wounded in the face and disarmed, but manages to overpower Lester before telling him that killing Abigail tore him apart. He cuts his throat (just like Lester did with Abigail) and tells him that is how it feels. Breslin eventually throws him down from the corridor, avenging Abigail.

When Daya returns to Mansfield, she coldly greets her father, who is well aware of the true nature of his business, before leaving with Shen. DeRosa comforts Breslin over Abigail's death and tells him to forgive himself. Breslin then decides to withdraw.
