The Eschenauer See is a dead lake in the Eggstätt-Hemhofer lake district north of the Chiemsee . It is located in the municipality of Pittenhart in the Traunstein district in Upper Bavaria . With an area of 18.40 hectares, it is the fifth largest of the lakes in the Lake District after Langbürgner See , Hartsee , Pelhamer See and Schloßsee and the largest of the lakes in the Weitmoos, the biotope network between the Eggstätt-Hemhofer Lake District and the nature reserve Seeoner Seen .

The almost circular polytrophic lake is traversed by the Ischler Achen , which takes up the small Lienseeachen immediately before its confluence. The outflow is formed by the Ischler Achen and just north of this its branch, the Alte Achen.
