Esplantas is a former municipality in the French department of Haute-Loire in the administrative region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Since January 1, 2016, the village has formed the Commune nouvelle Esplantas-Vazeilles with the neighboring Vazeilles-près-Saugues and has been its main town (Chef-lieu) ever since. Neighboring towns are Saugues in the north, Saint-Préjet-d'Allier in the northeast, Vazeilles-prés-Saugues in the east, Thoras in the southeast, Chanaleilles in the southwest and Grèzes in the west.
