Life

Esther Fellner grew up in Locarno in the canton of Ticino , where she also spent her school days. She began her artistic path at the age of sixteen by studying ballet in Zurich. After three years she moved back to Ticino to study at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri school, newly founded by the clown Dimitri . There she was trained in dance , acrobatics , juggling , pantomime , acting , improvisation and singing . During this time she also met the Italian singer Daisj Lumini, who sang old Italian folk songs and whose teaching had a significant influence on her artistic career.

Together with Frieder Nögge , clown and actor, with whom Fellner was friends at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri , she moved to Stuttgart and founded an acting ensemble in the Theater im Forum 3 . Pieces such as “Amore”, “Mondschalk” and the children's play “Nippel, Napp und Nögge” were created and performed at various locations in Germany. In addition, Esther Fellner sang the Italian songs she had rehearsed in Ticino on numerous recitals.

After a long artistic break, during which she devoted herself to her family since 1982, she has been performing regularly at song recitals since 1995. Numerous appearances have taken her through Germany and Switzerland. In 2003 she gave two recitals in Israel. Her repertoire , which included mainly French chansons - among others by Édith Piaf , Charles Aznavour and Jacques Brel - as well as Italian songs, she expanded to include songs from South America and Israel.

In January 2006, Esther Fellner performed at the Cologne Philharmonic , where she sang songs by Walter Jurmann . Her appearance in August 2006 at the Open Air Festival Colors of Music on the occasion of the opening of the new Berlin Central Station was highlighted by the public and the press . She sang French songs by Walter Jurmann. The Berliner Morgenpost commented:

The Swiss Esther Fellner became a well-deserved audience favorite in the long line of singers. Her dark, velvety voice interpreted Jurmann's Parisian chansons in a tart and seductive manner.
