geography
River course
The river arises on the western slopes of the Newcastle Range in the Atherton Tablelands , which are part of the Great Dividing Range , from the two source streams Sandy Etheridge Creek and Stony Etheridge Creek . From there it flows to the north-northwest, where it reaches the Savannah Way (also: Gulf Developmental Road ) about 10 km east of Georgetown . He accompanies the road west and passes under it in Georgetown. At the same time it turns its course to the northwest and then flows into largely unpopulated land, roughly in the middle between the settlements of Abingdon Downs and Minnies Outstation , in the Einasleigh River .
