Eths is a French metalcore / nu-metal band from Marseille . The band sings their lyrics almost exclusively in French , which is rather unusual for bands from this genre, as English predominates there. In addition to the French version of the new album III , there is also an international version with four songs in English translation.

Band history

In 1996 Greg and Staif formed the band "Whats the Fuck". After the singer Candice joined the band, the name was changed to "Melting Pot". In 1999 drummer Guillaume and bassist Roswelle were added and the band got its current name. Under contract with the collective Coriace , the band released the demo Eths in the same year and made a name for themselves especially in their home country. The EPs Autopsy and Samantha followed in 2000 and 2002 . With the first album Sôma , Eths also became known outside of France and went on tour with Machine Head and Fantômas , among others . In 2006 Guillaume and Roswelle left the band due to creative conflicts with the other members. The second album Tératologie was then recorded with the help of friends and studio musicians and released in 2007. To complete the lineup, Matt LeChevalier joined the band on drums and Shob on bass , but LeChevalier was replaced by Morgan in late 2008. In early 2012, Morgan was again replaced by the returned first drummer Guillaume. Eths also signed a deal with Season of Mist , which announced the release of their third album, titled Title III, on April 6, 2012.

On September 18, 2012, front woman Candice Clot announced that she was leaving the band for personal reasons after the current tour in October. She was replaced in April 2013 by La France A Un Incroyable Talent participant Rachel Aspe , with whom the band first recorded an EP called Ex Umbra In Solem . This is due to appear soon and, in addition to the newly written title track, also contains cover versions of older songs.

The new album Ankaa with Rachel Aspe as singer was released on April 22, 2016.
