The Etzgerbach is the 8 km long brook that flows through the municipality of Mettauertal . It rises at more than 500 m. ü. M. in the area of the municipality of Villigen . Its direction of flow is west or northwest. On his way he passes the villages of Hottwil , Wil , Mettau and Etzgen , which gives the stream its name. There it flows into the Rhine .
