Eugen Hillenbrand

Eugen Hillenbrand (born February 10, 1936 in Offenburg ) is a German historian.

Hillenbrand was an academic senior counselor at the history seminar of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . With a thesis on Nicholas of Strasbourg , he received his doctorate there in 1966. phil. He is a student of Gerd Tellenbach . In 1979 he presented a translation of Charles IV's Vita Caroli Quarti , the only self-portrayal of a German ruler from the Middle Ages. Hillenbrand is a member of the Southwest German Working Group for Urban History Research. His research focus is the medieval regional history ( Gengenbach , Konstanz , Offenburg ). He was co-editor of the Festschrift for Otto Herding's 65th birthday .
