Eugen Iordache (born April 30, 1922 in Bucharest , † February 22, 1988 ) was a Romanian football player and coach . He played 159 games in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1952 Olympic Games .

Career

Iordache began his career in his hometown with Gloria Bucharest. In 1942 he moved to local rivals Juventus Bucharest . Due to the war-related interruption of gaming operations, he did not play for the first time in the top Romanian division, Divizia A , until August 25, 1946 . In the following season he managed the best yield within a season with 22 hits.

Iordache stayed with Juventus until the end of the 1951 season . Even after the club was relocated to Ploieşti , he played for a year with the new club Flacăra Ploieşti before returning to Bucharest in 1953 and joining Locomotiva . He could no longer build on his scoring years there. A year later he moved to Divizia B for Progresul Bucharest and in the middle of the 1954 season to Progresul Oradea and thus back to the House of Lords. After the season he returned to Progresul and ended his career there after the 1955 season .

National team

Eugen Iordache was used in twelve games of the Romanian national soccer team and scored one goal. He made his debut on October 8, 1946 against Bulgaria . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 he was in the Romanian squad and was used in the game against the eventual Olympic champion Hungary .
