Eugen Jensen

Eugen Jensen 1898

Eugen Jensen (born January 26, 1871 in Vienna ; † November 23, 1957 in Munich ; born Eugen Jacobsen ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

The son of a businessman received his acting training from Ludwig Gabillon and began his first engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Bucharest in 1893 . In 1894 he appeared in Laibach , then in Olmütz , and later in Graz and Dresden .

In 1898 he followed a call to the Raimund Theater . Since 1913 he took on film roles. Mostly he played respectable personalities, in Der Teufelsschlosser (1919) he embodied Satan. He could also be seen on tours in Romania until the 1930s.

After the annexation of Austria , Jensen emigrated to Switzerland in 1938. He made guest appearances here on stages in Bern , Basel and Zurich . Jensen was married to the actresses Rosamonti and Alice Lach .

Jensen is buried in the fire hall Simmering (Section 1, Ring 3, Gr. 8, No. 81) in Vienna next to his wife Alice.
