Eugen Schroth (born October 13, 1862 in Vienna ; † November 5, 1945 there ) was an Austrian drawing teacher as well as genre, landscape and history painter.

Eugen Schroth came from a family of artists. His father Alexander Schroth (1828–1899), his grandfather Johann Baptist Schroth (1789–1857) and his great-uncle Jacob Schroth (1773–1831) and his great-grandfather Johann Friedrich Schroth (1736–1803) were sculptors and plasterers. His brothers Max (* 1853) and Moriz (1853–1937) worked as plaster casters.

After secondary school, Eugen Schroth attended the arts and crafts school of the Austrian Museum of Art and Industry in 1877/78 and 1878/79 and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as a guest student in 1878/79 . From April 21, 1884 to 1887 he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . After graduating, he settled in Vienna as a freelance artist. From 1893 Schroth taught freehand drawing as a supplement and assistant at various schools. In 1906 he passed the teaching examination. He founded the vocational training school for mechanics in Vienna, which he directed until 1927. In 1929 he received the honorary title of government councilor. Schroth was chairman of the Viennese drawing teachers association.

After his retirement in 1923 he created genre and animal pictures as well as landscapes of Carinthia, the Wachau and Gmünd. He took part in exhibitions in the Künstlerhaus Wien and in the Hagenbund .

He was married to the writer and painter Albine Schroth (1862–1928).
