Euro-Neisse ticket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Euro-Neisse-Ticket (spelling: EURO-NEISSE-Ticket) is a ticket offer initiated by the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien (ZVON), which entitles the holder to cross-border use of public transport in the border triangle of Germany , the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic .

history

With effect from May 1, 2004, the two states, Poland and the Czech Republic, bordering the ZVON area, joined the European Union . In the run-up to accession, in consultations with representatives of the transport companies and the regional authorities of the three countries, the proposal was developed to extend the validity area of the ZVON network area day card to include the border areas in Poland and the Czech Republic. After an agreement was reached with the Czech State Railways ČD and several road transport companies in the Czech Republic and Poland, day, small group and bicycle day tickets have been offered for specific areas in the three countries involved since May 1, 2004. In Germany they are sold under the name EURO-NEISSE-Ticket , in Poland as Bilet EURO-NYSA and in the Czech Republic as Euro Nisa Ticket .

Later, the line network was gradually enlarged through the integration of further companies in Poland and the Czech Republic. Since September 2008, the tickets have been valid in the entire network area of the ZVON ( districts of Bautzen and Görlitz ), in the entire Liberecký kraj and in Poland in the powiat Bolesławiec , Jelenia Góra , Lubań , Lwówek Śląski and Zgorzelec on most of the railway, urban and regional transport lines of the participating transport companies. The area of validity was later extended to include the Schluckenauer Zipfel , among other things .
