Eurobus swiss-express was a Swiss long-distance bus company based in Bassersdorf . The licensed transport company was a subsidiary of Eurobus . It was originally founded by Domo Reisen AG as Domo Swiss Express in order to be the first private Swiss company to operate a domestic long-distance bus business. Eurobus swiss-expresss started operating in June 2018 and stopped operating again in November 2019.

history

At the beginning of 2018, the Swiss Federal Office of Transport issued a license for three long-distance bus routes. These were integrated into Switzerland's national tariff system, which meant that half-fare cards and general travelcards had to be recognized. In April 2018 it was announced that Domo Swiss Express would be taken over by Eurobus. The sales partnership with Flixbus was announced at the beginning of June 2018 .

From June 10, 2018, the company, now renamed Eurobus swiss-express , offered daily connections on three routes:

With the timetable change on December 9, 2018, Eurobus swiss-express changed its offer: the sections between Chur and Zurich and between Martigny and Sion were no longer served. The frequency between Zurich, Bern and Freiburg i.Üe. as well as between Zurich and Basel was increased for it. In addition, a new direct connection between Zurich and Lucerne was introduced.

The transfer hub for all lines was in Zurich.

After a corresponding application, the license was canceled by the Federal Office of Transport in mid-November 2019. All lines would no longer be served from November 16, 2019. The difficult general conditions for passenger transport in Switzerland were cited as the reason for giving up operations . The Eurobus swiss-express AG merged in December 2019 the parent company Eurobus and was removed from the commercial register.
