The film was produced by Stern-Film GmbH (Berlin) and the shooting took place from April to May 1918. The interior photos were taken in the Bioscop studio in Neubabelsberg. The exterior shots were taken near the Berlin Weidenbrücke. The premiere took place on July 19, 1918 in the Tauentzien-Palast in Berlin.

The film has a length of four acts at 1644 meters, about 90 minutes. In June 1918, the Berlin police imposed a youth ban on him (No. 41980).
