European University Sports Association
The European University Sports Association (EUSA) was founded in 1999 by 25 national university sports associations in Vienna. It organizes European University Championships (EHM) and promotes the content-related discussion of the further development of university sports on a European level. Today 45 nations are members, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The EUSA is a member of the Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire .
In 2012 the European Universities Games (EUSA Games or also called EUG) were held for the first time . The previously individually held European University Championships (EUC) are bundled here. The 2012 event took place from July 13 to 24, 2012 in Cordoba (Spain) and included competitions in badminton , basketball , beach volleyball , volleyball , soccer , futsal , handball , rugby 7s , tennis and table tennis . The second EUG took place in Rotterdam in July / August in 2014 and the third EUG was held in Zagreb in July 2016 . The last EUG so far took place in Coimbra , Portugal in 2018 .
In future, the EUSA Games are to be held in all even years in which there are no Universiades .
